Target Information
SNAREs (soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor-attachment protein receptors) are essential for cellular membrane fusion. SNAREs on opposing membranes form a trans-SNARE complex, a parallel four α-helical bundle that drives membrane fusion.
STX17 is a SNARE of the autophagosome involved in autophagy by directly controlling autophagosome membrane fusion with the lysosome. It may also play a role in maintaining the architecture of the ER-Golgi intermediate compartment (ERGIC) and regulating transport between ER, ERGIC, and Golgi. (Source: Uniprot)
