Target Information
Fibronectin is a disulfide-bonded dimer (230–250 kDa) found in the extracellular matrix of connective tissues and vessels. It exists as an insoluble, cross-linked polymer and as a soluble plasma protein. Fibronectin plays key roles in cell adhesion, migration, embryogenesis, wound healing, blood coagulation, host defense, and metastasis. Elevated expression is associated with non-small cell lung carcinoma, enhancing tumorigenicity and resistance to apoptosis. The FN1 gene undergoes alternative splicing, producing up to 20 transcript variants.
