Target Information

The MOG gene encodes a membrane protein expressed on the oligodendrocyte cell surface and the outermost layer of myelin sheaths. It is a key antigen in immune-mediated demyelination processes. This protein contributes to myelin sheath formation and maintenance, as well as cell-cell communication. Multiple isoforms have been identified through alternative splicing.
