Target Information
STING (Stimulator of Interferon Genes) is a 379-amino-acid signaling protein that plays a key role in innate immune signaling. It activates NF-κB and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce type I interferon (IFN-α, IFN-β) expression, establishing an antiviral state. STING may also function as a translocon influencing interferon induction and mediating apoptotic signaling via MHC-II association. It is primarily localized to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane, and is ubiquitously expressed across most tissues.
