- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 10.0) for 10–20 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor)는 45 kDa의 이황화 결합된 호모다이머성 당단백질로, 혈관신생(angiogenesis)에 관여하며 종양의 성장과 전이에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
VEGF는 내피세포의 생존, 증식, 화학주성, 혈관 투과성 증가 등 다양한 생리적 효과를 유도합니다. VEGF 패밀리에는 VEGF-A, VEGF-B, VEGF-C, VEGF-D, VEGF-E, PIGF 등이 포함됩니다.
VEGF와 그 수용체는 혈관신생의 세포 신호 조절에 핵심적인 역할을 하며, 대부분의 종양은 혈관신생을 필수적으로 필요로 합니다.
VEGF는 flt-1 (VEGFR-1), flk-1/KDR (VEGFR-2) 수용체에 결합하며, 이들은 주로 내피세포에서 발현됩니다.
또한 FLT1의 대체 스플라이싱 형태인 sFLT1은 VEGF를 높은 친화도로 결합하여 혈관신생을 억제하는 역할을 합니다.
VEGF의 상승된 발현은 POEMS 증후군(Polyneuropathy, Organomegaly, Endocrinopathy, Monoclonal gammopathy, Skin changes)과 연관되어 있습니다.
