Recombinant Murine GM-CSF is a 14.2 kDa globular protein consisting of 125 amino acid residues.

Target Information
The GM-CSF gene encodes a cytokine that regulates the production, differentiation, and function of macrophages and granulocytes. The active protein form exists as a homodimer in the extracellular space.
This gene is located in a cluster on chromosome region 5q31, associated with interstitial deletions in the 5q- syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia. Other genes in this cluster include interleukins 4, 5, and 13.
It plays a role in promoting tissue inflammation, and elevated cytokine levels, including GM-CSF, have been observed in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome.
Mice lacking this gene or its receptor develop pulmonary alveolar proteinosis.
