Target Information
VRK2 (vaccinia related kinase 2) is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the VRK family. It is widely expressed in human tissues and highly expressed in actively dividing cells such as testis, leukocytes, fetal liver, and carcinomas. VRK2 can phosphorylate casein and undergo autophosphorylation. It interacts with Epstein-Barr virus BHRF1, a Bcl-2 homologue, which helps protect cells from apoptosis.
