Product Specific Information
The GK1.5 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD4 molecule, a 55 kDa cell surface receptor expressed by most thymocytes, a subset of mature T cells, and dendritic cells. CD4 binds to MHC class II molecules and plays a key role in T cell development and function. Binding of GK1.5 is blocked by RM4-5.
Each product includes:
- 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
- 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes at ≤0.2 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell count: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Optimize antibody titration for best performance.
Important Notes:
- NovaFluor dyes are incompatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., PI, 7-AAD, DAPI).
→ Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains instead. - Includes CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01). Add 5 µL per sample for optimal staining.
For single-color controls: 5 µL per 100 µL cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells). - NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology for engineered fluorescent signatures minimizing spillover and spread.

Laser: 561 nm (Yellow)
Note: Non-specific B cell staining observed in SJL mice; not in BALB/c or C57BL/6 strains.
Target Information
CD4 is a co-receptor for MHC class II molecules and HIV entry. Expressed mainly in T helper cells, but also in monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. Found in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and other tissues. CD4 assists in early T-cell activation and may mediate neuronal damage in immune-related CNS diseases. Multiple splice variants identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
