Target Information
PAI1 (plasminogen activator inhibitor 1)은 serine protease inhibitor 초가족에 속하며, 조직형 및 urokinase형 plasminogen activators (tPA, uPA)의 주요 억제제입니다. PAI1은 혈소판뿐 아니라 다양한 세포(섬유아세포, 평활근세포, 내피세포, 간세포, 염증세포 등)에서 합성 및 분비됩니다.
PAI1 발현은 성장인자, 사이토카인, 호르몬, 염증인자, 대사물질, 혈관조절인자 등 다양한 요인에 의해 전사 수준에서 조절될 수 있습니다.
PAI1은 비만, 혈전증, 대사증후군 등 다양한 질환 상태에서 증가되어 있으며, 결핍 시 비정상적 출혈을 유발할 수 있습니다. 또한 fibrinolysis 억제 및 신경세포 생존 촉진에 관여합니다.
PAI1 결함은 plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 deficiency로 알려져 있으며, 다양한 isoform을 생성하는 대체적 스플라이싱 변이체가 존재합니다.
