ZNF16은 Krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 17개의 C2H2-type zinc finger를 포함합니다. 전사 조절에 관여할 가능성이 있으며, 인간 염색체 8번에 위치한 ZNF7/KOX4 유전자 근처에 존재합니다. 두 가지 alternative splicing variant가 보고되었으며, 동일한 단백질을 암호화합니다.
