This antibody is ready-to-use and designed for manual qualitative immunohistochemistry (IHC) on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues.
Recommended positive control tissue: breast sclerosing adenosis (not limited to this type).

The antibody assists in detecting NGFR (p75NGFR), a member of the TNF receptor family and a marker for desmoplastic and neurotropic melanoma. NGFR is expressed in various mature non-neural cells such as perivascular cells, follicular dendritic cells, basal epithelium, prostate basal cells, and myoepithelial cells.
In prostate and urothelial cancers, NGFR may act as a tumor suppressor, negatively regulating cell growth and proliferation.
In breast tissue, anti-NGFR labels myoepithelial cells and intralobular fibroblasts, aiding in malignancy diagnosis.

Staining Procedure

• Use formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections.
• Pretreatment with heat-induced epitope retrieval or enzymatic retrieval is recommended.
• IHC staining involves sequential application of:
  1. Primary antibody
  2. Secondary (link) antibody
  3. Enzyme complex
  4. Chromogenic substrate
     Results are visualized under a light microscope.

Control Recommendations

• Positive controls: Run with every staining procedure.
  • Should contain both positive and negative staining components.
  • Fresh autopsy/biopsy/surgical specimens fixed and embedded similarly to patient samples.
  • Prefer tissues with weak positive staining for quality control.
• Negative controls: Internal or external, depending on organizational guidelines.
  • Must show absence of specific staining to confirm validity.

Target Information

NGFR (Nerve Growth Factor Receptor, p75) is involved in the survival, differentiation, and maintenance of neurons and other neural crest-derived cells.
Antibodies against NGFR p75 are valuable for studying neuronal development, plasticity, and repair mechanisms.
