Target Information
Acyl-CoA thioesterases (ACOTs)는 acyl-CoA를 CoA와 자유 지방산으로 가수분해하는 효소군입니다. 이러한 효소들은 세포 내 지방산 및 acyl-CoA 수준을 조절하는 역할을 합니다.
ACOT1(CTE1)과 ACOT2(PTE2)는 ACOT 패밀리에 속하며, ACOT1은 세포질에, ACOT2는 주로 미토콘드리아에 존재합니다. 두 단백질 모두 Palmitoyl-CoA를 CoA와 팔미테이트로 전환하는 반응을 촉매하여 세포 내 지방산 수준 조절에 기여합니다.
ACOT2는 다양한 스플라이싱 아이소폼으로 발현되며, 인간 염색체 14번에 위치한 유전자에 의해 암호화됩니다.
