The Canine IL-12/IL-23p40 ProcartaPlex™ Simplex Kit measures IL-12/IL-23p40 protein and can be combined with other Simplex kits to create a customized multiplex panel utilizing Luminex™ xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation. Only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate, regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the sandwich ELISA principle, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of one protein to quantitate multiple protein targets simultaneously using a Luminex instrument. These assays require as little as 25 μL of plasma or serum, or 50 μL of cell culture supernatant, and produce results within four hours.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology to detect and quantify up to 80 protein targets in a single sample. Luminex beads are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores to create unique spectral signatures identifiable by Luminex detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX). Each bead is conjugated with antibodies specific to a single protein target, enabling multiplexed detection within one well.

Unlike traditional ELISA, the capture antibody in the ProcartaPlex assay is conjugated to a bead rather than adsorbed to a microplate well, allowing reagents to remain free-floating in solution. The Luminex instrument uses two lasers—one to identify bead signatures and another to quantify RPE fluorescence proportional to the protein amount. This enables profiling of more targets using significantly less sample and time compared to ELISA.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available across six species (human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine).
