Isocitrate dehydrogenases는 isocitrate를 2-oxoglutarate로 산화적 탈카르복실화하는 효소입니다.
이 효소들은 NAD(+) 또는 NADP(+)를 전자 수용체로 사용하는 두 가지 하위 클래스에 속하며, 총 다섯 가지 isocitrate dehydrogenase가 보고되었습니다.
NAD(+)-의존성 효소들은 미토콘드리아 매트릭스에 위치하며, 시트르산 회로의 속도 제한 단계를 촉매합니다.
이 효소는 두 개의 알파, 하나의 베타, 하나의 감마 소단위체로 구성된 이형사량체입니다.
본 유전자는 NAD(+)-의존성 isocitrate dehydrogenase의 베타 소단위체를 암호화하며, 세 가지 스플라이스 변이체가 보고되었습니다.
