Target Information
PAX2는 배아 발생 초기 특정 조직에서 활성화되는 전사 인자군인 Pax 유전자 패밀리에 속합니다. Pax 단백질은 paired box로 알려진 DNA 결합 도메인을 가지며, 유전자 프로그램을 수행할 수 있습니다.
PAX2는 신장 발생 과정에서 발현되며, metanephric mesenchyme의 응축 및 초기 상피 구조에서 강하게 나타납니다. 성숙한 세뇨관 상피에서는 PAX2 발현이 급격히 감소하지만, Wilms 종양의 미분화 상피에서는 지속적으로 발현됩니다. 이는 WT1 단백질의 발현과 연관되어 있으며, WT1이 PAX2 전사를 억제하는 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
