Product Specific Information

This antibody recognizes phosphorylated intracellular tyrosine 153 of CD3 zeta chain (CD247), a component of the TCR/CD3 complex expressed on T cells.

Target Information

CD3z complex is crucial in transducing antigen-recognition signals into the cytoplasm of T cells and regulating TCR complex surface expression. The CD3 subunits (gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta) are immunoglobulin superfamily members encoded by genes on human chromosome 11. These subunits contain cytoplasmic tails with tyrosine-based motifs that mediate signaling molecule association. CD3 plays roles in TCR-induced growth arrest, cell survival, and proliferation. It is expressed on most T lymphocytes and thymocytes but not on B or NK cells. Altered expression may be observed in certain autoimmune diseases. Diseases associated with CD3z include Immunodeficiency 25 and T-B+ Severe Combined Immunodeficiency due to CD3delta/CD3epsilon/CD3zeta.
