Glutathione S-transferase (GST) theta 1 (GSTT1)는 글루타티온을 다양한 전자친화성 및 소수성 화합물에 결합시키는 효소군의 일원입니다.
Human GSTs는 alpha, mu, pi, theta, zeta의 다섯 주요 클래스가 있으며, theta 클래스에는 GSTT1과 GSTT2가 포함됩니다.
GSTT1과 GSTT2는 약 55%의 아미노산 서열 유사성을 가지며, 인간 발암 과정에서 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
GSTT1 유전자는 GSTT2 유전자에서 약 50kb 떨어져 있으며, 두 유전자는 동일한 엑손/인트론 경계를 가진 5개의 엑손으로 구성되어 있습니다.
