Target Information
The LGN (GPSM2) protein belongs to a family of proteins that modulate G protein activation, transducing extracellular signals into cellular responses. Its N-terminal region contains 10 Leu-Gly-Asn repeats, and the C-terminal region contains 4 GoLoco motifs involved in guanine nucleotide exchange. LGN may play a role in neuroblast division and normal hearing development. Mutations in this gene are associated with autosomal recessive nonsyndromic deafness.
