Target Information
PLXNA4 is a protein coding gene and acts as a coreceptor for SEMA3A. It is essential for signaling by class 3 semaphorins and subsequent cytoskeletal remodeling. Plays a key role in axon guidance during nervous system development. Class 3 semaphorins bind to a complex composed of a neuropilin and a plexin. The plexin modulates the affinity of the complex for specific semaphorins and its cytoplasmic domain is required for activation of downstream signaling events.
