Target Information

In eukaryotes, the phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of proteins on serine and threonine residues regulate essential cellular functions such as division, homeostasis, and apoptosis. Protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) holoenzyme is a trimeric complex composed of a regulatory, variable, and catalytic subunit. PPP1R7 (Sds22) is a 360 amino acid protein localized in the nucleus, containing ten LRR (leucine-rich) repeats. It functions as a regulatory subunit of the PP1 complex and is expressed in various tissues, suggesting a role in protein regulation throughout the cell. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing.
