Target Information
Calreticulin (Calr) is a calcium-binding chaperone involved in protein folding, oligomeric assembly, and quality control in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) via the calreticulin/calnexin cycle.
Calr interacts transiently with most monoglucosylated glycoproteins synthesized in the ER and with the DNA-binding domain of NR3C1, mediating its nuclear export.
It may also play a role in maternal gene expression regulation and oocyte maturation through calcium homeostasis regulation.
