Target Information
Tetranectin (TN) is a serum and tissue C-type lectin protein that binds calcium ions (Ca++). It forms a homotrimer of 20 kDa monomers, with plasma or serum concentrations around 10 mg/L. In vitro, TN binds to kringle 4 of plasminogen and enhances its activation to plasmin by tissue plasminogen activator in the presence of poly-D-lysine. TN is known as a prognostic marker in ovarian cancer.
