Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene and located on human chromosome 11. NF-kB p65, also known as RelA, belongs to the Rel family of proteins and is one of the two subunits of NF-kB (Nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells), forming heterodimers with p50 or p52. Upon TNF alpha stimulation, IKK phosphorylates IκB, leading to its degradation and activation of NF-kB p65. This protein plays an essential role in transcriptional regulation of immunoglobulin kappa genes in mature B-lymphoid cells.
