Target Information
CYP2A6 유전자는 cytochrome P450 효소 초가족에 속하며, 약물 대사 및 콜레스테롤, 스테로이드, 지질 합성에 관여하는 monooxygenase 효소를 암호화합니다. 이 단백질은 소포체(ER)에 위치하며, phenobarbital에 의해 발현이 유도됩니다. Coumarin hydroxylation 및 nicotine, aflatoxin B1, nitrosamines, 일부 의약품 대사에 관여합니다. 특정 대립유전자를 가진 개인은 coumarin 또는 nicotine을 효율적으로 대사하지 못하는 poor metabolizer phenotype을 보입니다. 이 유전자는 염색체 19q의 CYP2A, CYP2B, CYP2F 유전자 클러스터에 속합니다. 과거에는 CYP2A3으로 명명되었으나, 현재 CYP2A6으로 명명되었습니다.
