KLF-9은 Sp1 C2H2 타입 zinc finger 패밀리에 속하는 전사인자로, 프로모터 내 GC box 요소에 결합합니다. 단일 GC box에 결합 시 mRNA 발현을 억제하며, 반복된 GC box에 결합 시 전사를 활성화합니다. KLF-9은 자궁 내막 세포의 증식, 부착, 분화 및 종양 발생 과정에서 핵심적인 전사 조절자로 작용합니다.
