Target Information
The α/β hydrolase superfamily consists of diverse members involved in important biochemical processes and various diseases. Despite having unrelated sequences, different substrates, and distinct catalytic activities, they share a canonical α/β hydrolase fold with an eight-stranded parallel α/β structure and a catalytic triad composed of histidine, acid, and nucleophile residues.
Members of this superfamily serve as potential drug targets for diseases such as diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, obesity, and blood clotting disorders.
