Target Information
E-Cadherin (epithelial cadherin)은 칼슘 의존성 세포-세포 접착 글리코단백질로, cadherin 초가족에 속합니다. 이 단백질은 다섯 개의 세포외 cadherin 반복 영역, 막관통 영역, 그리고 고도로 보존된 세포질 꼬리로 구성되어 있습니다. CDH1 유전자의 돌연변이는 위암, 유방암, 대장암, 갑상선암, 난소암 등과 관련이 있으며, 기능 상실은 세포 증식, 침윤 및 전이 증가를 통해 암 진행에 기여할 수 있습니다.
E-Cadherin은 조직 구조 유지와 세포 성장 조절에 핵심적인 역할을 하며, 인간에서는 염색체 16에 위치한 CDH1 유전자에 의해 암호화됩니다. 발현 감소 또는 결손은 암의 침윤성과 전이 가능성과 양의 상관관계를 가집니다.
