Target Information
TYW2 (also known as TRM12) is an enzyme involved in wybutosine-tRNA (Phe) biosynthesis. Wybutosine (yW) is a hypermodified guanosine that stabilizes codon-anticodon interactions during ribosomal decoding.
TYW2 participates in multistep enzymatic reactions ensuring accurate translation. It has been found amplified in several breast cancer cell lines, with overexpression observed in most breast tumor samples, suggesting a potential role in breast cancer.
