Target Information
Opticin (also known as OPTC or OPT) is a 332 amino acid extracellular matrix protein containing seven LRR repeats. It is expressed in skin and fetal liver, as well as ocular tissues such as the retina, cornea, and iris. Opticin binds collagen fibrils and is believed to regulate fibril spacing, morphology, and organization. It undergoes post-translational O-glycosylation and may be associated with the pathogenesis of primary open-angle glaucoma.
