PEP-1094 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20980.
Target Information
ZEB2, initially identified as Smad interacting-protein 1, is a nuclear DNA-binding transcriptional repressor that interacts with activated SMADs. Similar to ZEB1, ZEB2 inhibits transcription of the E-cadherin gene and induces epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), a process regulating cell migration during embryonic development and wound healing.
ZEB2 can protect cells from DNA damage-induced apoptosis, suggesting a role in tumor progression. It is often observed in the cytoplasm of various cancer tissues, indicating regulated localization in normal and tumor cells. Mutations in this gene are associated with Hirschsprung disease/Mowat-Wilson syndrome.
