Target Information
G Gamma14 (GNGT2) is a guanine nucleotide-binding protein. G proteins are composed of three subunits — alpha, beta, and gamma — and function as signal modulators or transducers in various transmembrane signaling systems. The beta and gamma chains are essential for GTPase activity, GDP-GTP exchange, and interaction with G protein effectors. This G protein is specific to retinal cones and plays a key role in the regulation of phototransduction.
