Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
RIC8A is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that activates specific G-alpha proteins. It can activate GNAI1, GNAO1, and GNAQ, but not GNAS, by exchanging bound GDP for free GTP. RIC8A is involved in regulating microtubule pulling forces during mitotic chromosome movement by stimulating G(i)-alpha protein, potentially leading to release of G(i)-alpha-GTP and NuMA proteins from the NuMA–GPSM2–G(i)-alpha–GDP complex. It also acts as an activator for G(q)-alpha (GNAQ) protein by enhancing G(q)-coupled receptor-mediated ERK activation.
