THOC5는 TREX 복합체의 THO 서브컴플렉스 구성 요소로, 스플라이싱된 mRNA에 특이적으로 결합하여 핵 내에서 mRNA 수출에 관여합니다.
TREX 복합체는 EJC(Exon Junction Complex) 상류의 mRNA에 결합하며, 캡 의존적 방식으로 5' 말단 근처에 모집됩니다.
THOC4와 NCBP1의 상호작용을 통해 모집되며, HSP70 mRNA의 NXF1-NXT1 매개 핵 수출에 THOC5와 THOC4가 함께 작용합니다.
또한, 과립구 및 지방세포의 분화에 관여할 수 있습니다.
