About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the sandwich ELISA principle, using two specific antibodies binding different epitopes of one protein for simultaneous quantitation via a Luminex instrument.
These multiplex assays require as little as 25 μL of plasma or serum, or 50 μL of cell culture supernatant, and yield analyzed results within four hours.

Technology Overview

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 65 protein targets in a single sample.
Each bead is internally dyed with red and infrared fluorophores to create unique spectral signatures, identified by Luminex systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).
Matched antibody pairs detect the target proteins using biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).
Unlike traditional ELISA, capture antibodies are conjugated to beads, allowing free-floating reactions for enhanced multiplexing efficiency.
