Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the RhoGAP family of proteins, which regulate small GTP-binding proteins of the RAS superfamily. The rat ortholog localizes to the Golgi complex and can redistribute to microtubules. It stimulates the activity of certain Rho GTPases in vitro. Genomic deletions involving this gene and a neighboring gene have been associated with nephrogenic diabetes insipidus. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms exist.
