NTRK2 (TRKB)는 신경영양인자(neurotrophic factor) 계열에 속하는 단백질로, 포유류 신경계의 발달과 유지에 중요한 역할을 합니다. NTRK2는 brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)의 수용체로 작용하며, BDNF와 함께 단기 및 장기 시냅스 기능을 조절합니다. TrkB는 중추 및 말초 신경계 조직에 주로 발현되며, BDNF 결합 시 MAPK 경로 구성원들을 인산화하여 세포 분화를 유도합니다. TrkB 유전자 변이는 비만 및 기분 장애와 관련이 있다고 알려져 있으며, 다양한 전사적 스플라이싱 변형체가 존재합니다.
