This antibody detects endogenous levels of RET only when phosphorylated at Tyr1096.
Target Information
RET is a receptor tyrosine kinase and a member of the cadherin superfamily. It plays a crucial role in neural crest development and can undergo oncogenic activation by cytogenetic rearrangement. RET transduces signals for cell growth and differentiation.
Mutations in the RET gene are associated with multiple endocrine neoplasia type IIA and IIB, Hirschsprung disease, and medullary thyroid carcinoma. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified, with additional variants whose biological validity remains uncertain.
