Target Information
The p53 tumor-suppressor gene integrates signals controlling cell life and death. PERP, also known as PIGPC1 and THW, is a plasma membrane protein activated by p53 to mediate apoptosis. PERP expression induces cell death and shares sequence similarity with PMP-22/gas3, belonging to the PMP-22/gas3 family.
