Forkhead box protein C2 (FOXC2) is a transcriptional activator characterized by a distinct DNA-binding forkhead domain. FOXC2 may play a role in the formation of specialized mesenchymal tissues. Mutations in the FOXC2 gene can cause lymphedema-distichiasis (LYD).
