Target Information
KIAA0586, also known as TALPID3, is a 1472 amino-acid protein belonging to the Talpid3 family. TALPID3 is essential for vertebrate development and functions as a centrosomal protein. Mutations in TALPID3 disrupt ciliogenesis, leading to signaling defects such as polydactyly, neural tube, craniofacial, and vascular abnormalities due to impaired Hedgehog signaling. TALPID3 is required for both Gli repressor and activator functions in the Hedgehog pathway and serves as a subcellular marker of the centrosome.
