This antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope in the N-terminal Ig domain (D1) of CD147 (Neurothelin), a 50–60 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein primarily expressed on leukocytes, red blood cells, platelets, and endothelial cells; it is not expressed by resting lymphocytes.
The MEM-M6/1 antibody is a high-affinity antibody capable of binding to unstimulated peripheral blood T cells.
Western Blot: use under non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

CD147 (also known as basigin, neurothelin, OX-47, 5A11, CE9, M6, EMMPRIN, extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer, TCSF, tumour cell-derived collagenase-stimulatory factor) is a 50–60 kDa glycoprotein with multiple glycosylated forms. It is a plasma membrane protein important in spermatogenesis, embryo implantation, neural network formation, and tumor progression.
CD147 belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and is highly expressed in metabolically active cells such as lymphoblasts, inflammatory cells, brown adipocytes, and malignant tumor cells.
It facilitates cell surface expression of monocarboxylate transporter proteins and extracellular matrix metalloproteinases, regulates integrin functions, and plays roles in cell development, activation, fetal development, and retinal function.
