Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Members of the trefoil family are characterized by having at least one copy of the trefoil motif, a 40-amino acid domain that contains three conserved disulfides. They are stable secretory proteins expressed in gastrointestinal mucosa. Their functions are not fully defined but may include protection of the mucosa, stabilization of the mucus layer, and facilitation of epithelial healing.
This gene, expressed in the gastric mucosa, has been studied for its role in human tumors. It is part of a trefoil family gene cluster located on chromosome 21.
