Recombinant Human PDGF-AA is a 28.5 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer of two A chains (total 250 amino acids).

Target Information
Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) was identified as a major mitogenic factor in serum, secreted from activated platelets during blood coagulation. PDGF exists as three dimeric isoforms (AA, AB, BB), each composed of two related peptide chains (A and B) and acting through two receptors (α and β).
PDGF isoforms are potent mitogens for connective tissue cells including fibroblasts, glial cells, smooth muscle cells, and some epithelial and endothelial cells. They also exhibit chemotactic activity for fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, neutrophils, and mononuclear cells.
Additional activities include stimulation of collagen synthesis, modulation of thrombospondin expression, induction of contraction in vascular tissues, and regulation of immune cell cytokine secretion. PDGF plays an important role in neuronal survival and regeneration, as well as glial cell proliferation and differentiation in the CNS.
