This antibody detects endogenous levels of total KLF17 protein.
Target Information
KLF17 is a transcriptional repressor that binds to promoter regions of target genes to inhibit their expression. It acts as a negative regulator of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and metastasis, particularly in breast cancer. KLF17 specifically binds the 5'-CACCC-3' sequence in the promoter of ID1, a key metastasis regulator, repressing its expression. It may also function as a germ cell-specific transcription factor involved in spermatid differentiation and oocyte development.
