Target Information

Cytokeratins are intermediate filament proteins showing high biochemical diversity, represented by at least 20 different polypeptides in human epithelial tissues. They range in molecular weight from approximately 40 kDa to 68 kDa and have isoelectric points between pH 4.9 and 7.8.
Each epithelial type expresses specific cytokeratin subtypes, which correlate with its differentiation state. Cytokeratin expression patterns are widely used to distinguish epithelial malignancies, aiding tumor diagnosis via immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and flow cytometry.
