Target Information
PGP9.5 (Protein gene product 9.5, UCH-L1, PARK5)는 뉴런 특이적 단백질로, neuron specific enolase와 구조적·면역학적으로 구별됩니다. 분자량은 약 27 kDa이며, ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase family 1 (peptidase family C12)에 속합니다.
이 단백질은 ubiquitin hydrolase 및 ligase 활성을 가지며, ubiquitin 단량체를 생성하기 위해 작은 C-말단 부착물을 가수분해합니다.
PGP9.5는 중추 및 말초 신경계의 모든 수준의 뉴런과 신경 섬유, 신경내분비 세포, 신장 세뇨관 일부, 정세포 및 고환의 Leydig 세포, 난자, 황체 세포 등에서 발현됩니다.
과발현 시 비소세포성 폐암과 관련되고, 발현 저하 시 헌팅턴병 및 알츠하이머병과 연관됩니다.
세포 내 포함체에 존재하므로, PGP9.5는 신경세포 마커로서 파킨슨병 등 신경퇴행성 질환 연구에 유용하게 활용될 수 있습니다.
