Annexin V는 칼슘 의존성 인지질 결합 단백질 계열에 속하며, 세포막 관련 분비 및 내포 과정에 관여합니다. Annexin 5는 phospholipase A2와 protein kinase C 억제 기능을 가지며, 칼슘 채널 활성을 통해 세포 신호전달, 염증, 성장 및 분화 과정에 역할을 합니다. 또한 placental anticoagulant protein I, vascular anticoagulant-alpha, endonexin II, lipocortin V, placental protein 4, anchorin CII로도 알려져 있습니다.
이 유전자는 약 29 kb 길이로 13개의 엑손을 포함하며, 약 1.6 kb의 단일 전사체와 약 35 kDa의 단백질을 생성합니다.
