MAPK1 (ERK2)는 serine/threonine kinase로서 p90 RSK, MSK, ELK1, Stat3 등의 활성화에 관여하며 MAPK 신호전달 경로의 핵심 인자입니다.
ERK 계열 kinase는 다양한 생화학적 신호를 통합하여 세포 증식, 분화, 전사 조절, 발달 등 여러 세포 과정에 관여합니다.
활성화 시 상위 kinase에 의해 인산화되고, 이후 핵으로 이동하여 핵 내 표적 단백질을 인산화합니다.
