Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Mammaglobin is expressed almost exclusively in normal breast epithelium and human breast cancer. It belongs to the secretoglobin gene family and forms a heterodimer with lipophilin B. Mammaglobin is considered a useful marker for breast cancer research. Studies using RT-PCR detection of mRNA from circulating carcinoma cells in breast cancer patients have shown that mammaglobin is a highly specific marker correlated with prognostic factors such as lymph node involvement.
