This antibody detects endogenous levels of total OPRD1.
Target Information
OPRD1 (Opioid Receptor Delta 1) is involved in the regulation of anxiety, depression, and pain. It is considered a promising therapeutic target for mood disorders and drug addiction. Delta and kappa opioid receptors can form heterodimers, functioning synergistically. OPRD1 expression is primarily found in the brain, with high levels in the cortex, caudate, hippocampus, nucleus accumbens, and putamen, and lower levels in the cerebellum, hypothalamus, substantia nigra, and thalamus. Reduced OPRD1 expression has been observed in the putamen and amygdala of Alzheimer’s patients and in the putamen in Parkinson’s disease.
